Acceptable Use Policy
Ground rules for using Starvo responsibly — review management for real businesses, not fake reviews or abuse.
Last updated: May 23, 2026
1. Overview
Starvo is review management software for owner-operated local businesses. It is not a content-publishing platform, not a bulk messaging tool, and not for generating fake reviews. This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all plans and is incorporated into theTerms of Service. By using Starvo, you agree to it.
2. Permitted Use
You may use Starvo for any lawful business purpose, including to:
- Collect customer feedback via your location QR codes and review links.
- Route happy customers toward your public Google Business Profile (link always shown).
- Capture private feedback from unhappy customers and reply with AI-assisted drafts you edit.
- Sync and reply to Google reviews when you connect Google Business Profile on a paid plan.
- Invite Managers and Staff to help operate your locations within their roles.
- Export customer lists as CSV and use the public API within Pro Max rate limits.
3. Prohibited Conduct
3.1 — Fake, coerced, or gated reviews
- Soliciting, fabricating, buying, exchanging, or incentivising fake reviews.
- Coercing customers or paying for positive reviews.
- Attempting to hide, filter, or gate the Google review link by rating — Starvo never does this, and you must not circumvent that design.
- Violating Google's review policies or equivalent platform rules.
3.2 — Illegal activity & harmful content
- Uploading or transmitting unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, fraudulent, or infringing content.
- Sending spam, malware, phishing content, or unsolicited bulk messages through the Service.
- Submitting personal data of an individual without their knowledge or a lawful basis.
- Using Starvo in furtherance of fraud or other crime.
3.3 — Circumventing technical controls
- Circumventing rate limits, plan limits, quota RPCs, or security controls.
- Reverse-engineering or extracting source code except where law permits.
- Probing or testing security without written permission — report vulnerabilities tosecurity@starvo.appinstead.
- Scraping or crawling beyond the public REST API on Pro Max and within its rate limits.
3.4 — Abuse of the service & payments
- Reselling or rebranding Starvo as a separately branded offering without written permission.
- Sharing account credentials in a way that enables unauthorised access.
- Obtaining a subscription through fraudulent payment, or filing a fraudulent chargeback. For genuine billing errors, contact support first (see theRefund Policy) — good-faith disputes after that contact are not an AUP violation.
- Placing disproportionate automated load on Starvo infrastructure.
4. Enforcement
We enforce proportionally. Depending on severity, we may issue a warning, suspend the account (read-only), terminate access, hard-delete after the 48-hour soft-delete window, or report illegal activity to authorities. Minor or first-time violations usually get a warning; serious violations (fake-review schemes, fraud, security attacks) may result in immediate action.
5. Reporting Violations
To report an AUP violation or abuse:support@starvo.app. To report a security vulnerability:security@starvo.app(see theSecurity page). We aim to respond within 5 business days.
6. Changes & Contact
We may update this policy; material changes are notified by email and/or in the dashboard at least 30 days in advance. It is governed by the laws of India (competent courts of Hyderabad, Telangana), consistent with the Terms. Questions:support@starvo.app. Related:Terms·Privacy·Refund·Security.
